Being new to the Blogging world, it’s always such a great opportunity when approached to Guest Blog. Recently, one of my articles was featured on Only Dates and I couldn’t be happier. This blogging thing is actually a lot like dating. You need to put yourself out there and really be open to everything. When you get asked to guest blog it’s actually a lot like getting asked on that first date. You’re giddy and excited, but nervous. You want them to see only the best of you (or in this case, your writing). You take extra time to pay attention to the little details. And then when you finally see the fruits of your labour up on another site, it’s like bringing that date to the next level: “You like me, you really like me!” A la Sally Field at the 1985 Oscars, being liked, whether it’s in the dating realm, the blogging realm, or the realm of the Academy, means a lot.

I haven’t been on a date with anyone besides my husband in a while but guest blogging is bringing me back to my serial dating days and I can’t believe the similarities. The rush. The validation. Wondering if they’re as happy with me as I was with them. Now, all I need to do is get “asked out on a second date”. Thanks to Only Dates for finding my blog and reaching out.
